About Us

Two warm and comfortable cottages in converted Grade II Listed buildings on a small working farm with sheep, hens and cows.

The Coach House sleeps 4/5 + cot

The Shippon sleeps 4 + cot. Suitable for the less abled.

Both offer under-floor central heating, stone floors and beamed ceilings, fitted kitchens and separate utility room.
Sorry! No smoking in the properties and no pets.

The area is ideal for walking with the Macclesfield canal and it’s locks just up the road. The local hill called Bosley Cloud provides views towards Buxton and the Peak District, Stoke on Trent and its famous potteries, the Cheshire plain to Beeston Castle and the Welsh hills and Manchester to the north, all within easy reach. Acorn Cottages are ideally situated to explore this part of the kingdom.

Directions

Road Directions

Leave the motorway and head for Congleton. From Congleton town centre follow signs for Buxton A54. After approximately 3 miles you will reach traffic lights on a narrow bridge over the River Dane, carry on along this road under the railway viaduct and the property can be found at the next entrance on the right hand side with a large boulder at the bottom of the drive on a left hand bend.

Public Transport Directions

By rail: Macclesfield - 5 miles. Leave Macclesfield on the A523 to Leek. At Bosley crossroads (where the A523 crosses the A54) turn right to Congleton, over the canal, over an old railway bridge and we are the second farm entrance on the left with a big boulder at the bottom of the drive on a right hand bend.
