Bells of Peover

You may have visited The Bells of Peover before, in fact, your great grandparents might have visited as there’s been a pub on the same picturesque location since the 14th century. Despite it appearing to be in the middle of nowhere, down a cobbled street, by a quaint church, amongst the ancient woodland of rural Lower Peover, it’s actually only a five minute drive away from Knutsford town centre.

This pretty Grade 1 listed building has had a refurb recently. Customers enter the pub through the arches of the old wisteria and can either sit by the log fire under timbered beams and relax with a sandwich and a drink in the bar area or take their time over a more formal lunch or dinner in the lovely restaurant.

The same menu runs throughout, but what makes The Bells of Peover such a wonderful destination dining experience is the fact that they make almost everything from scratch in their own kitchens under the new executive chef Carl Jenkins (after four years as the head chef at Mobberley’s Plough and Flail, as well as a further eight years experience at a range of Heathcotes outside catering establishments including Preston North End, Warrington Wolves and Chester Racecourse.) The team work together to produce a wonderful array of homemade sausages, pickles, chutneys and pates.

Provenance is of the utmost importance so they have developed great working relationships with wonderful local suppliers and source a lot of meat and game from surrounding Cheshire farms.

Although The Bells of Peover is gaining a great reputation for their delicious Sunday lunches, it is also a perfect venue for special events and weddings in the garden area.

General Manager Jose Lourenco and his team are keen to appeal to people who are after a great dining experience any day of the week. Expect a warm welcome for all the family.
