The Chester Racecourse Polo Club has been created to make polo accessible. Individual polo lessons for players at all levels cost from £50 per 45 minute session. For those just wanting to play, chukkas take place every Tuesday with pony hire available from £40. Polo is played at Chester Racecourse and on the nearby Churton pitch. Ponies, equipment and facilities are all readily available to create a superb personalised experience.
In addition to the educational element of the club are a series of polo tournaments taking place before or after racing at Chester, play by invitation only. Entrance to these tournaments is complimentary for racegoers. In addition, the 12-goal Flame Estates international polo weekend takes place on the 1st & 2nd June 2007.
The Flame Estates international polo weekend has become the polo club’s flagship tournament. Combining the heady mix of sporting finesse at an international level, mouth watering cuisine, fine wine, champagne and the all important social element, set on the beautiful and historic Roodee it’s obvious why this is increasingly established as one of the Northwest’s premier events.
Every aspect of the weekend is pitched at the highest level from the quality of the turf husbandry, the standard of play through to the £10,000 prize money for the winning team. The concept of prize money is pioneering in the polo world and definitely adds further pezazz to proceedings!
