As members of the The Guild of Fine Food Retailers, North West Fine Foods and Made in Cheshire, Davenports Farm Shop offers a fabulous range of delicious mostly locally made food, much of which is organic.
After only a year of the farm shop being open, Davenports have recently won Gold Award at the Chester Food Festival for Best Rural Retailer and are Regional Winners for North Wales and Cheshire in the Best Rural Retailer section run by Countryside Alliance, Daily Telegraph and Farmers Weekly.
In 1947, Harry Fry Davenport started growing and retailing vegetables and flowers firstly from land rented from Cogshall Hall, then from Bridge Farm where we are located now. In 1955 he opened a greengrocers shop in Barnton. In the subsequent years the business focused on floristry, eventually opening/buying three more florist shops. These were recently sold to enable the farm shop to be developed which finally opened in November 2006, effectively coming full circle.
We have carefully researched and selected food which meets our criteria and that we think you will like. Our range includes cheeses, bacon, sausage, freshly-baked bread, homemade cakes, sweets, james, organic baby food, seasonal fruit and vegetables and much more.
Tearoom is now fully open.
