Type: Garden

The home of Mary Fitton, the ‘Dark Lady ‘of Shakespeare’s sonnets, Gawsworth Hall’s romantic associations are echoed in the garden’s broad lawns studded with evergreen trees and shrubs, and formal plantings of roses. The gardens also feature an open-air theatre with covered grandstand where a host of performances will take place during the theatre season.

One of Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction in Cheshire's Year of Gardens 08.
