For cyclists, Cheshire is just right, not too flat and not too hilly! Discover the real county as you cycle along quiet, tree-lined lanes through gentle countryside and sleepy villages. There's always plenty to see along the way and places to stop for some well earned refreshment!
Circular routes, such as Biking the Backroads and Fruits of the Forest, range from really easy family rides to more challenging routes for those with energy to spare! Former railway lines such as the Wirral Way and the Biddulph Valley Way provide safe, traffic-free cycling.
And if you enjoy a challenge, the new, extended Cheshire Cycleway provides a 176m/282km signed route around the county that can be cycled in sections, giving you time to take in the scenery, or stop off at some of the many rural attractions along the way. Stay the night at one of Cheshire's cycle friendly B&Bs and feel rejuvenated for the next day's challenge!
If you don't come equipped with a bike, take the family to Delamere Forest for a whole day of off-road cycling with mountain bike hire on site. Or head to Tatton Park and hire a bike there, and have a garden break by bike, as you can ride between Tatton Park and Arley Hall. Alternatively book a Byways Breaks cycling package and let someone else do all the organising for you!
