Received Taste of Cheshire Award 2008 at the recent Visit Chester and Cheshire Tourism Awards.
Crammed with locally sourced, traditionally produced foods, this isn’t just a farm shop, it’s a rural concept store in the heart of Cheshire. Here fashionistas and foodies unite in pursuit of their perfect taste sensations.
The Hollies has the allure of a traditional grocery store, with boxes of plump vine tomatoes, perfect potatoes and fabulous fruit.
On the large oak tables stand an array of fresh olives, while the wooden shelves creak under the weight of local preserves, cakes and honey. But then there’s the beauty products, fresh flowers, bespoke hampers, unique gifts and wines of the world.
Fine food shopping has become an enticing and exciting experience. “The Hollies is an escape from all that is plastic, chemical and wholly unnatural with the added fripperies of any Bond Street Boutique” says a fan from the Wirral.
As ‘Best supporter of Regional Food and Drink 2006 and 2007’ The Hollies was described by Sheila Dillon (BBC Radio 4) as “the ‘Harrods of the North’ ... the food is sourced locally and served with the sort of charm that’s in short supply at the emporium on Brompton Road SW1.”
And then there’s the garden centre; bursting with colour and allure, The Hollies Garden Centre encourages passion and flare for your garden, your window box and even your window sill. From home nurtured summer basket plants, fabulous alpines, bedding plants, shrubs, trees, heathers, perennials to a range of outdoor living accessories; it is a garden lover’s heaven.
From roadside barrow and honesty box, The Hollies have emerged as Cheshire’s award winning food-emporium. In 1959 Edward Cowap began farming The Hollies farmland, 50 years on The Hollies has two impressive farm shops, a Garden Centre, Concept Cafe, online shop and an Ice Cream and Smoothie bar.
Visit The Hollies and enjoy the experience.
