Great Pumpkin Festival 2008
As part of Cheshire's Year of Gardens 08 grow your own pumpkin and gain access to heaps of pumpkin-packed events across Cheshire.
This year we have teamed up with Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction and local businesses to bring you The Great Pumpkin Passport. This is your chance to show off your prize-winning pumpkin and access great prizes and discounts across Cheshire.
Why not enter your heaviest pumpkin into to the Arley Hall and Gardens Pumpkin Games in October and you could win a free trip for you and your class to Chester Zoo.
Or grow a pumpkin bigger than the size of your head and get in free to Chester Zoo's Pumpkin Festival, one child free with every full paying adult.

Sowing and growing:
- Plant late April or early May in a 7 cm pot. Leave to grow and sunbath on your windowsill.
- Early June plant in your garden, 90 cm apart, in a sunny open spot.
- Love and nurture ready for October pumpkin fun.
