Grade: Moderate Distance: 4 kms / 2.5 miles Time: 1.5 hours Start: Spuley Lane / Hedgerow junction, Bollington GR SJ 946 783 Map: Explorer 268 Terrain: Field paths, tracks and stony paths. Muddy patches in winter. Some gradients. Barriers: 6 stiles, uneven ground on hillside slopes

Walk Waypoints

  1. 1 Walk up the old track known as Hedgerow for approximately 1 km.
  2. 2 Take the second footpath on the right. Follow this across the slopes of Billinge Hill and onto a track leading to Blaze Hill Lane.
  3. 3 Turn left and cross the road and turn right onto a track.
  4. 4 Take the right fork and walk towards the settlement. Follow the footpath through the stone buildings to the rear of the settlement.
  5. 5 Take the footpath on the right leading downhill along a narrow enclosed way.
  6. 6 On entering the field, follow the path to the right downhill towards the stream in Lima Clough. Pass the information panel and continue along a track to Oakenbank Lane.
  7. 7 Turn right and follow Oakenbank Lane to the cross roads. Cross with care and walk ahead and turn right into Spuley Lane and back to the start of the walk.
