Mount Pleasant Circular Walk






Grade: Easy Distance: 5 km/3 miles Time: 1 -2 hours Start: Free car park at the Yeld Map: OS Explorer 257 Terrain: Unsurfaced or semi-surfaced forest tracks/paths and one minor road. Some terrain will be muddy in winter. Barriers: 1 kissing gate, 1 squeeze stile, gradients 500m 1:15, 100m more than 1:6 Toilets: Available in the gardens (admission charge) including accessible toilet

Walk Waypoints

  1. 1 Follow the sign for the Sandstone Trail opposite the car park down Forest Gate Lane.
  2. 2 Join Sandstone Trail and turn left towards Delamere Forest and Barnsbridge.
  3. 3 Pass through a wooden kissing gate and continue straight on along the Sandstone Trail.
  4. 4 At farm track turn left towards Barnsbridge Gates.
  5. 5 Take next public footpath sign to your right towards Barnsbridge Gates, passing through a squeeze stile and following the course of a small brook.
  6. 6 Turn left at junction with forest track.
  7. 7 Turn left again following a public right of way sign, keeping a ditch to your left.
  8. 8 Turn left at the next junction.
  9. 9 Turn left at next junction with orchard to your right.
  10. 10 Turn right along track.
  11. 11 Turn left onto Yeld Lane and continue back to car park up the hill, passing Eddisbury Farm & Tea Shop.
