A Brief History of Christmas with GreenMatthews

£10 (£8 Friends)
To book, call 01625 613210 or pop in to The Old Sunday School Shop for tickets.

The perfect event to get you in the mood for the most wonderful time of the year!

A festive romp through 600 years of Christmas, with music, songs and carols. Beginning in the Middle Ages and ending in the 20th century, this is a whistle-stop tour of the origins of the festivities from acclaimed musicians using unusual instruments and their trademark wit and humour.

GreenMatthews (Chris Green and Sophie Matthews) and special guest Jude Rees will perform in the charming surroundings of The Old Sunday School's auditorium. Take a seat (recently refurbished with the help of the public, local businesses and supporters) and be transported from Christmases past to present.

The performance runs from 1pm to 3pm and is followed by a festive tea, provided by the Friends of Macclesfield Silk Heritage. If you would wish to stay for tea, please let the museum know at the time of booking to receive your special ticket.
