Chester Operatic Society presents Singin’ in the Rain
Set in 1920s Hollywood, this light-hearted romantic comedy focuses on the trials and tribulations of two movie actors during the transition from silent pictures to the early days of sound film.
Silent film stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are the toast of Hollywood. Lina believes Don will fall for her charms off set as well as on but Don has his heart set on beautiful up and coming actress Kathy Selden. The advent of talking movies threatens disaster for Don and Lina’s screen partnership but Kathy, and Don’s lifelong friend and musical partner, Cosmo Brown save the day.
With sparkling songs such as “Make ‘em laugh”, “You are my lucky star” and the unforgettable “Singin’ in the rain” and some spectacular dance numbers this show is sure to send you home with your feet tapping and yearning for the next thunderstorm.
