Nos Galan Mai (A May Day Eve Feast)

Join us for the first of our annual spirit night celebrations of 2024. Gather around the bonfire before enjoying a feast cooked by Chef Adam Williams on a beautifully styled table. Afterwards, there will be fire performances by fire artists. The celebration will take place in the courtyard at Hawarden Estate Farm Shop.

May Day eve was one of the three great ‘spirit nights’ (ysbrydnos) of the year. 

These were thought to be the three nights of the year that the veil to the spirit world was at its thinnest and people would use this to foretell who their true love would be.
