Spring Foraging Courses

These are the first courses at Marbury Country Park, a beautiful new Cheshire venue on the edge of Budworth Mere. The mixture of open grassland, woodland and brooks makes this park perfect for Spring foraging.

Meet at the picnic benches at 12pm for a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers.

After the talk set off for a 2-3 hour walk around the park identifying the different edible and poisonous Spring shoots, plants, flowers and mushrooms that we find. There will be breaks along the way for some homemade refreshments such as lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup.

Finish the day off with a tasty wild food lunch based on what you've found. This will include some treats made from the recent finds, a wild salad that you will pick on the day and possibly even some wild garlic pesto.
