Chester is the perfect place to come for a family break this Summer, with plenty of family friendly places to stay and visit, not to mention some special events taking place this August, there is something for all ages.
Kick-start the summer holidays with a day of family fun at Chester Racecourse, with action on the flat and fun free activities for younger racegoers on the Open Course, there’s fun on the Roodee for all the family. Or visit Chester Zoo, and see their new Love it Longer exhibition made entirely out of rubbish and waste, including a display called 'Pootopia'. Visitors can see all sorts, from paper made from elephant poo to energy inspired by rhino dung, Pootopia will show visitors a pooey transformation right before their eyes.
Foodies can rejoice this month as we have two events to whet your appetite. Firstly the Chester Makers Market returns with bakers and makers including Makers Market favourites Planet Doughnut and Urban Bear Co., as well as new traders to discover.
And over at the Racecourse you will find the Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Festival, the biggest event of its type to take place anywhere in the UK this Bank Holiday, with over 150 exhibitors highlighting the best the county, region and country has to offer and a fabulous line up of celebrity and local chefs including Ready Steady Cook’s Paul Rankin, Masterchefs John Torode and eat well for Less Star- Chris Bavin.
