It's safe to say after the last year we all need a laugh and we have the perfect solution this July in Chester as the CH1 ChesterBID Comedy Festival returns, with a 12 day programme packed with previews shows, comedy crawls, children’s workshops and even comedy dinners, featuring well known comedians such as Jason Manford, Gary Delaney, Ed Byrne and more.
Live music makes a welcome return to Chester this month with the first ever Carriage Fest, bringing the best names in house music to the city for an open air mini inner-city Festival, Nghtwrk is back with a bang for the third instalment of their brilliant outdoor electronic music event and if you are looking for a bit of nostalgia you can enjoy a retro party on board ChesterBoat with one of their 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s themed party cruises.
No visit to Chester is complete without a trip to our famous zoo and this summer they have a new Love it longer exhibition running, featuring eight huge installations created by six different artists, each formed from discarded plastic rubbish, old fabrics, unwanted technology, rainwater and even animal dung.
