About Us

Restaurant 1539 at Chester Racecourse offers the most unique backdrop in which to enjoy a drink, savour a delicious dinner, pop in for an express lunch or mingle in the Roof Lounge at the weekend.

The menu offers a modern take on classic British favourites alongside dishes inspired by more global flavours. Diners can choose dishes from the grill including steaks and fresh seafood, as well as smaller plates such as sauteed truffled wild mushrooms or Highland smoked salmon. The new express menu is available until 6pm daily which includes a glass of wine for time-stretched diners at £9.95

Many ingredients used on their menu are sourced locally to create a seasonally appealing range of dishes that represent the best produce Cheshire has to offer.

The weekend is the perfect time to relax, indulge and enjoy food with friends. 1539 is open from 9.30am for brunch, which can be accompanied by the Sunday papers, a Bloody Mary or a glass of prosecco. They also serve a delicious Sunday roast all day, together with an impressive list of specials, which can be enjoyed with views over the famous Chester racecourse.

1539’s well stocked cellar boasts an impressive collection of Champagnes, wines and spirits, and the cocktail list is well worth exploring alongside some delicious nibbles from the bar menu. Restaurant 1539 has just undergone an impressive refurbishment so is the perfect place to meet friends for a catch up or just sit somewhere comfortable but impressive and take advantage of the free WiFi.

When the weekend arrives, you might want to enjoy drinks in the Roof Lounge where the atmosphere changes and a guest DJ transforms the ambience into a funky, sophisticated space to hang out.
