I would class myself as a bit of an expert when it comes to the bar scene in Chester. Check out my favourite places to spend my evenings.
Below are 3 different but equally amazing bars/restaurants where you can enjoy everything from an outdoor sociable drink with friends to a night filled with live music accompanied by a bustling atmosphere.
The Botanist A real 'botanical' experience, as the self-explanatory name suggests. I love so much about this place from the decoration and attention to detail is beautiful. Expect to have paté served in a pot accompanied by chutney in a trowel. If food isn't what you fancy, the cocktail list will be. It's extensive and inexpensive and the presentation of the drinks themselves is amazing. My personal favourite is a watermelon martini, served with a slice of watermelon, tasty! If there's a group of you, why not try a Watering Can of Cocktail suitable for 2 - 4 people (depending on how much you love cocktails!) The Botanist also features local musicians and is a fab place to spend an evening with friends.
BarLounge BarLounge has, is, and probably always will be the place to be seen on a Friday evening. With its unique spot on the end of Watergate Street, I always enjoy sipping a Bellini under the lantern lit trees, and heat lamps (great for those colder days) whilst having a good old tipsy natter with friends or family. There's a great atmosphere here, the barman are real gentleman and the staff cannot do enough for you.
The Church A former place of worship that has been transformed into one of the hottest nightspots in town. It is the place to socialise, drink (and people watch) indoors or out. Whether you enjoy beer, wine, spirits, cocktails or even nibble, it's all on offer at The Church. You can also enjoy live bands and musicians from relaxed acoustic guitarists in the week to live bands at the weekend. The Church is a place for everyone and has a very mixed clientele.
