Winter Watch and Saturnalia Parade – Bring your family and friends to the biggest parade of the festive season on Thursday 15th December at 7pm. Gather together on Eastgate Street ready to get involved in all the excitement of two city parades, not one, but TWO! On this evening the historic Winter Watch Parade takes place in combination with the Roman legion’s torch-lit Saturnalia Parade.

Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival – Explore the cloisters of the magnificent Chester Cathedral and marvel at over 50 unique Christmas trees, each decorated by local schools and businesses. Prepare to be fascinated by the heart-warming display of creativity and festivity. Keep an eye out for the #perfectchester tree – you may find your #perfectchester moment handwritten in one of our baubles!

The Lanterns at Chester Zoo – An unmissable, unique and magical family experience and a highlight in Chester’s festive programme. See Chester Zoo like you have never seen it before with all your favourite animals and characters illuminated against the backdrop of a winter’s night sky. Marvel at a constellation of stars and watch your children’s eyes light at the imminent arrival of Santa arrives on his sleigh.

CheSTAR at Chester Cathedral – Come and see the mesmerising CheSTAR in the Cathedral gardens – the brightest sculpture Chester has ever seen! Comprising more than 1,500 twinkling lights and standing 25 feet high with giant gleaming spires. Grab a loved one for a few pics and take full advantage of the perfect selfie opportunity!

Film Screenings at the Grosvenor Museum – Keep the kids entertained with a month of Christmas movies at the Grosvenor Museum. Come and enjoy the Frozen Sing-A-Long, Happy Feet or the Polar Express on the big screen – festive family favourites with FREE entry.
