National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port

If you are looking for a day packed full of fun and activities, National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port is the one for you! This Summer they have some fantastic children’s workshops taking place, which are said to be going down a storm!

Every Monday, National Waterways Museum are holding two ‘Story Makers’ workshops for age 5-7 and 8-11-year olds. Your little one’s will write stories inspired by the rich history of Ellesmere Port docks and the interesting objects on display at the museum. On the final Story Makers session, everyone will read out their story and graduate from the Story Makers Club with a special certificate!

Don’t forget, a trip to the National Waterways Museum would not be complete without climbing aboard one of their historic narrowboats and enjoying a relaxed boat ride along the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal. We recommend the 30-minute boat trip on one of the museums most famous boats – ‘Centaur’!
