Cheshire is one of the great places to visit in the UK. myhotelbreak have put together five places you must experience when staying in Cheshire this year. Whether you’re visiting for a week, or only the day, there’s plenty to explore for all the family. Let’s find out the five must see attractions while visiting this historic part of England.

Anderton Boat Lift

Recently winning the ‘Large Attraction of the Year’ at the recent 2018 Marketing Cheshire Awards, is the must visit Anderton Boat Lift. A unique and fascinating site, the Cathedral of the Canals is its affectionately known nickname. Its job is to lift boats and barges from the River Weaver to the Trent & Mersey Canal. Lifting boats 50ft in the air in fact.

This is a great chance for all the family to enjoy a great afternoon together. Built way back in 1875 this magnificently designed structure was one (and still is) an engineering masterpiece of its time.

Enjoy time at its visitor centre, its coffee shop and of course it’s Let's Play play area for the little ones.
