Brunch is always the answer! With the new curfew cutting our evenings short, 11am has become the new 11pm and as usual, our fave venues have stepped up with some stunning brunch menus and drinks lists to kick start a better day.

We have tried them all (!), so here are our Top Brunch picks for Brunching in Chester and beyond …

The Suburbs

This gorgeous eaterie in Hoole has just recently launched their delicious brunch menu and it’s a fantastic addition to an already fabulous offering. On the menu you will find some classics, and in true Suburbs form – some great twists. You can grab yourself a Full South African Breakfast, yoghurt & granola, eggs anyway you like and lots of other great dishes! Combo-it-up with one of the best Bloody Mary’s in the city for truly Epic brunch experience. Served Tuesday to Saturday, 10am until 2pm.

They’ve not stopped recently with their constant upgrades and surprises, and they’re certainly not disappointing with their new Brunch Club available Tuesday to Saturday. Served inside or in one of their fab Winter Wonderland Igloos, the quality, as ever is top notch. Choose just a quick bite or go bottomless with a few cheeky cocktails and fizz.

The Chester Fields

The wait is finally over as from Monday, 5th October you will be able to Brunch over a stunning view at The Chester Fields. The menu is brilliant, with healthy & vegan dishes available and of course full of locally sourced produce. The Full English comes with a proper cup of tea and fresh orange juice as standard – and there’s a smaller option available for those with less of an appetite. Mark has also put his signature scrambled eggs on the menu too – a guaranteed cure for any strength of hangover! You can get a taste of this delicious menu every day between 11am and 12pm, booking is advisable but walk ins will be welcomed (subject to capacity).

They make a big deal out of Brunch here, 6 days a week in fact. So, Monday to Saturday from 8am through to 2pm you can brunch in great rural surroundings. On the menu you will find a good old fry up, waffles, pancakes, fruit, toasties and more. Visit on a Saturday specifically to indulge in 'The Big Breakfast', complete with fry ups, posh-brekkies, pancakes and more!  No matter when you visit, all of your food will be homemade and locally sourced. Sit back with a newspaper, stop in from a lovely dog walk, get cosy and start the day the right way at The Pops.

It’s Brunch but with a big fat Greek influence! Every Saturday Olive Tree Brasserie offer their fabulous bottomless brunch from 11am – 4pm. That’s on both food and drinks! On the menu you will find authentic Greek dishes such as Dolmades & houmous, and some traditional English dishes too. Indulge in great food with a glass of fizz, or maybe a gin Bellini?

They’ve now got a special menu with your choice of a Full English Breakfast, Steak Benedict or Smashed Avocado plus a non-alcoholic cocktail or hot drink for £10pp. If you want to make it boozy, then you can for a small supplement, and we think the Breakfast Martini sounds lush! They’re going to fill up fast, so if you fancy brunch on the heated terrace, or getting cosy in a booth inside – make sure you get it booked quickly.

They’re already well known for their incredible Sunday brunches. You know what they say about a Sunday being well spent, and we recommend starting yours in pretty Palm. For £29.95pp you will be greeted with a glass of Prosecco and homemade pastry bites to start, then select a main dish from their brunch menu along with your favourite tipple – We Love the Doll Beauty kiss. With options such as avocado & strawberries on toast, and Palm eggs royale (with pink hollandaise), it will be difficult to choose. Served from 12pm, booking is advisable.

They are well and truly in full bloom at Shrub now, especially with the latest addition to their offering. Seven days a week from 10 to 12pm you can now enjoy brunch at Shrub. The plant based eaterie has a fab selection of plates to choose from. With special ingredients such as ‘This isn’t bacon’ and ‘Moving Mountain sausages’, we guarantee this is one of the tastiest & healthiest brunch venues around.

The Flower Cup

This independent botanical coffee shop offers a brilliant all-day brunch menu. With over 20 options on food alone, we are sure there is something that you will love here. From the ‘Hip Breakfast’ to Biscoff French toast, the options to fill any brunch cravings are endless. Their coffee selection is delicious, and they have great milk alternatives too. They don’t take bookings here, so you can just rock up.

Located inside the stunning Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, this stunning oasis of a restaurant is the perfect setting for a relaxing brunch. With calming sounds of the bubbling fountain and the Kew-Gardens-esque décor bursting with shrubbery, it’s a great environment to start your day in.

They serve their brunches from 10am to 12pm and have classic options such as Eggs Benedict and Royale to American style pancakes with toffee sauce – for those  with a sweet tooth. Booking is advisable.

Slug and Lettuce 

Whilst Chester is in Tier 2, this stylish chain restaurant have changed their usual offering to a 3-course bottomless brunch - paired with stunning cocktails of course! So whether you fancy hashbrowns topped with cheese, American Style pancakes, or even a meatless burger* (*for a supplement), the Slug and Lettuce looks to be worth a visit for you and your bubble!

The Botanist

Chester's floral-themed cocktail bar has recently planted a new delight for you and your bubble - a hearty bottomless brunch from £27.95 pp! From French toasties to pancakes with fresh berries and even a full English (vegan options available), The Botanist's brunch offering is certain to please!
