We admit it, we’re flaky! We just can’t decide which is our favourite pastry outlet in Chester, but we’re ok with that. Here’s our list of our top 5 bakes - one for every weekday so no need to decide.

Best for Eating In

The Flower Cup, 61, Watergate Row South Watergate Street, Chester. Chocolate and Orange French Toast for brunch has to be one of the best pudding for breakfast options we’ve ever heard of. The French Toast special changes often - all the more reason to come back for more!

Opening soon is the brand new artisan micro bakery Kookaburra Bakehouse, 2 Goss St, Chester CH1 2BG. Specialising in sourdough loaves, cruffins and Aussie bakes.  We need to try… the Cheddar & vegemite cruffin. (Which, for the uninitiated, is a cross between a croissant and a muffin)

Pastries in your PJs

The newly opened Planet Doughnut, 4 Frodsham St, Chester CH1 3JL, is offering eat in, takeaway but best of all you can get those delicious, doughnutty deliveries straight to your door through the Zoom 1 hour website ( https://www.zoom-food.co.uk/)  A new website launching this week and launching nationwide deliveries very soon, so if you’re not in the Chester postcode you can soon try Planet Doughnut's signature circles at home. They will also do bespoke boxes / birthday doughnuts / colours & flavours to order (with plenty of notice) message them through Facebook or Instagram.

We need to try: the relaunched Tiramisu doughnut and the brand new flavour Kinder Cookie.

Feeling French

Chester Indoor Market newcomer Pastry Pédaleur does French inspired gourmet cakes and pastries within the indoor market. Pastry Pédaleur does pastry right! Everything is hand made and finished in house using the highest quality ingredients for a lovingly well-crafted treat. Menus change daily and past goodies include Alphonso Mango & Vanilla Custard, Pain au Chocolat with candied Kumquats and streusel, Gianduja Bicolour Chocolatine (with handmade Gianduja batons), and Rhubarb and Custard Cruffins (which Chester can thank Pastry Pédaleur for introducing us to!). We want to try the Canele de Bordeaux, and think it might be the perfect way to end a meal in the Indoor Market, or a little light liner before hitting That Beer Place.

Afternoon Tea Pastry Perfection

Afternoon Tea has been served daily at the Grosvenor since 1882, and seen by many as the finest in Chester. Upgrade your pastries with Champagne accompaniment or try their own Tea blend ‘Grosvenor Grey’.

We want to try the heartier, alternative offering of ‘Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea’ which includes a sturdy selection of savoury bites alongside the scones and traditional French patisserie.

The upcoming rematch is generating significant buzz, with Fury’s team confident in his ability to challenge Usyk physically. This analysis https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/13249310/oleksandr-usyk-vs-tyson-fury-2-todd-duboef-says-british-heavyweight-can-physically-faze-world-champion-in-rematch explores their strategy. After seeing Usyk’s tactical brilliance in the first fight, I believe his ability to outsmart Fury will prevail again. I’ve been keeping track of all developments on https://furyvsusyk.co.uk , which has been my go-to source for insights.

India’s gaming scene is evolving rapidly, and platforms are stepping up their game to offer top-notch experiences. Among the many I’ve tried, this particular one impressed me with its simplicity and attention to detail. Whether it’s the fluid animations, the fast load times, or the exciting variety of games, it’s evident that a lot of thought went into its development. The link to it is here: https://jet-x.game/ I’ve had hours of uninterrupted entertainment on this platform, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who values quality gameplay.
