Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet has launched a new summer 'container village' packed with food, drink and live music. The Ellesmere Port visitor destination has transformed a section of the site into a vibrant venue named 'Under the Oak'.

The eye-catching container village is a two-tiered space playing host to a rooftop bar, vintage carousel, external seating, summer huts and a range of street food.

Guests can enjoy a drink in the summer sunshine whilst sampling the delights of street food vendors from Greek gyros to a classic burger and fries or fresh wood fired pizzas.

As well as enjoying the tasty food and drink on offer, visitors will also be treated to a schedule of live music taking place throughout the summer as the outlet gears up for the return of its Under the Oak Festival. In July and August, it will play host to talented musicians from across the north west.

Kenny Murray, general manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks, said: "As summer approaches and everyone is on the lookout for the best places to grab some great food or drink in the sunshine, we are delighted to be able to welcome back the Under the Oak Festival to Cheshire Oaks.

"Not only is it a great place to relax, connect with friends and soak up the summer sun, we are thrilled to be able to provide a platform for local musicians to thrive after a trying few years for the industry. The north west is home to so many talented artists, so we can’t wait to see them take the stage at Under the Oak."

This June, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is championing talent from the local community and beyond by inviting artists from across the north west to perform as part of the festival.

Aspiring acts will be able to enter by sharing a link to their Soundcloud or social channel on the McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks ’ Facebook page. The lucky winners will be added to the schedule of talented local bands and musicians.

The Under the Oak Festival will also coincide with a summer extension of opening hours at the outlet. From July 2 to September 2, visitors can shop from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

This year, up and coming local artists are also in with a chance of securing their very own set at the live music venue. They could also land themselves £250 to spend at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.
