No matter if you want to dance the night away, watch a show or get hands on with countryside crafts, Cheshire has an abundance of festivals and shows for the entire family from children to grandparents there is something for the entire family to enjoy.

So get your dancing shoes on, pack your picnics and get the kids (and fur babies) ready for a summer of Cheshire family fun!

1. Tatton Park Pop Up Festival – Knutsford - 24th June - 7th August 2022

Tatton Park Pop Up FestivalAfter the huge success of 2021 Tatton Park pop up festival is returning for another year and is guaranteed to be ever better than last! The 10-week boutique festival situated in the spectacular grounds of Tatton Park is full of music, dancing eating and drinking as well as diverse and awe-inspiring performances from over 80 artists across 46 shows! From interactive shows with princesses and dinosaurs to sing along children’s performances and shows that the entire family can watch together like The Greatest Family Show, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy. Children and teens can boogie and party within a safe environment while parents can sit back relax and even enjoy a glass of bubbly if they so wish! It’s a festival that’s definitely worth the trip this summer.

2. Funtopia – Ellesmere - 16th July 2022. Funtopia – Northwich - 23rd July 2022 & 3rd September 2022

FuntopiaThis summer Funtopia has expanded to now having two locations and 3 summer dates so even more people can enjoy the fun! Funtopia is designed especially for younger visitors (Up to 10 years of age) and grown-ups are highly encourages to get involved, visitors can enjoy unlimited play on the activities and inflatables as many times as they like during their stay! The festival is packed with an array of activities and fun things to do such as - Bouncy Castles, Obstacle Course, Inflatable Slide, Bungee Run, Human Wrecking Ball, Inflata-Bull, Nerf Wars, Driving School, Circus Skills, Sumo Suits, Giant Games, Space Hopper Races, Crafty Corner and they also provide an under 5s Zone for our mini guests, filled with Bouncy Castles, Soft Play, Ball Pool, Ride On's, Giant Piano Mats and more.

3. Carfest North – Bolesworth - 22nd – 24th July 2022

CarFest NorthA weekend for the whole family, this year Carfest is bringing SEVEN magical festivals in ONE! All raising millions for children’s charities and is known as the largest family fundraising festival in the UK! This year’s festival weekends promise to bring everyone together, to admire the fastest cars, enjoy performances from some of UK’s best artists, bands, and DJ’s, get involved in incredible food demonstrations and meet a host of the UK’s TV, theatre, music, and sports legends. Young children, tweens and teens all have an abundance to do from the funfair, world’s largest bouncy castle, silent discos, art clubs, CBBC shows with the special guest of Pudsey and so much more! Young drivers have returned this year at Carfest and allows 10–17-year-olds a chance to drive a car with a specially trained team of instructors, a great opportunity for teens! A weekend full of unmissable activities and experiences for everyone!

4. Deva Fest - Dodleston - 12th – 14th August 2022

Deva FestAfter unfortunately having to cancel during the pandemic, Deva Fest returns to Chester Lakes from August 12-14. It’s a great family friendly option and across the three days guests can expect an extravaganza of music, parades, shows and fabulous food and drink from local suppliers. Headliners this year include Symphonic Ibiza, club legend Sonique, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Heather Small, Scouting for Girls, and Dodgy. With themes like Pirate Day, Old School Dance anthems and Festival Sunday, it promises to be one to remember.

5. Just So Festival - Rode Heath - 19th – 21st Aug 2022

With a love of stories and childhood escapades at its heart, Just So invites families to step out of their day-to-day lives and into a wonderland of world class literature, arts, theatre, dance, music, comedy, and creative pursuits together. 6. Geronimo – Northwich - 26th – 29th Aug 2022

Geronimo FestivalGeronimo Festival is back this year for another weekend of fun filled activities and exploration! There is so much to do from children's entertainment & activities, music, food Stalls and even an option of Camping, making it the perfect mini summer vacation! No matter what age your children are there’s something that will excite all, such as petting animals, watching the circus, seeing Monster trucks, meeting princesses and pirates and even crafting or if the older kids want to be more adventurous there’s zip lining, tree climbing and even axe throwing!

7. Bluedot - Jodrell Bank - 21st – 24th July 2022

This four-day festival in the shadow of the iconic Lovell Telescope is a celebration of all things music, science and cosmic culture. There’s a family-friendly atmosphere and a lot to keep both adults and little ones entertained. Not only this but there is also opportunity for glamping and camping near the site and for the adults there Is a wellness village where you can take some time out from exploring the Bluedot universe and realign your planets at Elevate. 8. Grosvenor Open Air Theatre - Stig of the Dump - 22nd July - 29th August 

There is no better family night out than sitting under the stars together and watching a magical, theatrical production unfold before your very eyes! Grosvenor Open Air Theatre returns this Summer with a revival of the critically acclaimed production of Clive King’s classic tale of a boy’s friendship with a mysterious caveman. Children under 12 are FREE and you can bring your own picnic! Or if you prefer the teepee bar will be serving drinks with hot wood-fired pizzas, fresh ice cream and more.

9. Cheshire Game and Country Fair - Knutsford - 28th & 29th August

Game and Country FairThis is a fair for all the family with THREE main arenas packed full of things to entertain all ages. Come and watch Scurry Racing, Falconry, Ferret Racing and Shire horse Displays. Have a go at clay shooting, fishing lessons, airgun training and archery. The speed carving is something to behold and there is even a chance to buy the smaller carvings. Not only that there is a Food Glorious Food tent offering a range of national and local food producers with a number of cookery demonstratons and even a craft village with demonstrations. All offering an unbeatable day out!

10. Magical Woodland - Blakemere Village - 7th - 31st October

Magical WoodlandFor a touch of magic, visit Blakemere Village for their popular Magical Woodland event. Trail through 15 acres of woodland and be met with dazzling displays under cathedral canopies of fairy lights, showers of glow-in-the-dark stars, and dancing tunnels of borealis-style lasers. The sky fills with mysteriously floating umbrellas and clouds of flying lanterns, while shiny baubles bounce to a magician’s command and DJs conduct sparkling jets of water to the beat of ethereal tunes. Fuel up on your way around with hot drinks, snacks and even a toasted marshmellow or two in the heart of the woodland.
