If you’re looking for some inspiration for what’s happening in Chester & Cheshire this week, look no further as we have put together a selection of our top picks for this week. From the rails and mini rovers to music festivals and outdoor cinema, as always there’s a lot going on so why not enjoy these brilliant things to do this week.

Mini Off-Rovers at Capesthorne Hall

One of the appeals of being older is that you can drive. But now the little ones can, too! Mini Off-Roavers are bringing their mini Land Rovers to Capesthorne Hall over the next two weeks so kids can drive their own way on the off-road course. Imagine their exhilaration as they 'start the engine' and set-off around a thrilling route, navigating the off-road terrain and testing their driving skills as they manoeuvre their way around the lake, woodland and parkland

Making Tracks at Chester Cathedral

From 18th July – 3rd Sept the highly anticipated Making Tracks 2 returns to Chester Cathedral with new interactive elements for kids (and kids at heart) plus a completely new stretch of the West Coast Main Line thanks to Pete Waterman OBE and the Railnuts modelling group. This 'OO' gauge layout occupies 64ft x 12ft and is truly something to behold in this majestic setting. Not just for miniature train spotters, this exhibition is great for all ages.

Just So Festival

Just So is making a welcome return to Congleton. The festival is an imaginative outdoor adventure for children and their families. With a love of stories and childhood escapades at its heart, Just So invites families to step out of their day-to-day lives and into a wonderland of world class literature, arts, theatre, dance, music, comedy and creative pursuits together.

Movies at Bolesworth

The beautiful and historic Bolesworth Estate is the place to be this week for some outdoor cinema. With some true classics showing like Grease, Mamma Mia! and Encanto, there’s something to suit all tastes. Expect great films, food, music and more on the gorgeous grounds of the Bolesworth Estate over the weekend.

Golden Square Summer Fair

It’s time for some good old-fashioned fun at Golden Square, Warrington. Complete with fairground rides, coconut shy, hook-a-duck, food and drink and more, head down for nostalgia galore until Sunday the 4 September and show the kids how summer is supposed to be spent! What says ‘summer’ more than a good old-fashioned fairground?
