1. Get festive at Knutsford’s Christmas Market
Knutsford is always a fabulous day out. This fiercely independent Cheshire town is full of boutiques and great bars and restaurants, as well as being just a stone’s throw away from Tatton Park. This weekend sees the return of the annual Christmas market. Knutsford Christmas Market marks the start of the festive season in Knutsford and this year returns for its 10th anniversary. The market will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, featuring over 130 artisan traders on each day selling a variety of fine local goods. To add to the celebration there will also be a Santa parade, live music, and the town’s light switch on.
2. Marvel at Walton Hall’s illuminations
The ever-idyllic Walton Hall & Gardens are welcoming back Luminate. This mesmerising light trail full of magical displays all set to ambient music is running until Christmas Eve. Expect a marvellous night out following the trail around the gorgeous grounds with lights and winter warmers to boot. Plus, Luminate are working with Ecologi as part of their commitment to sustainability and have already planted 3,500 trees.
3. See Delamere Forest transformed for Christmas
Christmas at Delamere Forest is back once again, and this year promises to be even more spectacular than ever. There are brand-new light installations from a range of artists including firework trees and a twinkling Christmas cathedral. There will be plenty of winter warmers from independent food and drink vendors to keep you going along the trail and truly get you into the festive spirit.
4. See some sparkle with the Christmas Tree Festival
Chester’s famous Cathedral have brought back the beloved Christmas Tree Festival for its tenth year. The halls of the Medieval marvel are lined with over 50 sparkling, shimmering Christmas trees decorated by a host of local organisations. It’s a sure fire wire to get that Christmassy feeling and is just £2.50 per person (under 5s go FREE!).
5. Look out for the Yulevillers at Blakemere Village
Blakemere Village’s Christmas Yuleville Trail is back and presents a magical family day out. You’re invited to follow your trail map around Blakemere Village to find all the YuleVillers and complete activities. Make sure to tick their names off as you go around the trail and complete the trail map to claim your prize at the end! This is a great festive option for little ones aged 3-10.
