Chester Market has now begun an exciting new chapter in its history with a move to a new purpose-built market hall at the heart of the Northgate development.

The driving force behind the new market has been to create a ‘modern traditional market’ that takes the best of the new breed of thriving city produce markets such as Borough Market in London, or Barcelona market; combined with pioneering communal food hall markets such as Altrincham and Stockholm, to create a unique blend of produce, goods, food and beverage traders in a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy – where you really can shop local and eat global. From world foods to locally sourced produce, Chester Market is proud to bring you an array of independent traders.

Road Directions

The adjacent car park is called New Market Parking, Hunter Street, Chester CH1 2AR

Access to the New Market Parking is from Hunter Street and can be accessed by vehicles travelling in either direction along St Martins Way.

The brand-new multi-storey car park has now opened on Hunter Street and will provide parking for 800 vehicles.

Operated by Cheshire West and Chester Council, the new car park replaces the Market car park under the old market and Forum shopping centre which has now closed and was first opened in 1967.
