This secluded and tranquil garden is one of Cheshire's best kept secrets, this secluded garden wraps around the cottage in a series of linked ‘rooms’. Wide herbaceous borders display over 2,000 varieties of hardy trees, shrubs, climbers and herbaceous plants. Perennial borders were created to celebrate Cheshire’s Year of Gardens '08 – providing beauty and interest from early spring to late autumn.

Adjoining the garden is a wildflower meadow, bluebell woodland and specialist plant nursery with an extensive stock of hardy perennials and shrubs.
Hot and cold drinks, locally made cakes and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream are offered on a self-service basis in the nursery tearoom during the week. At busy weekends, Cathy from 'Cake Day!' will be in the tearoom to serve her excellent selection of home-made cakes and lemonade.

From M56, junction 10 - take the A49 south towards Whitchurch. After about 3 miles, take the A533 right at a traffic light controlled cross-roads (petrol station on the corner). Lodge Lane is a left turn after about 1 mile, clearly indicated by large, brown tourist signs. From M56, junction 11 - take the A56 south towards Frodsham. Take the first left along Windmill Lane, or the second left along the A533 towards Northwich. Windmill Lane joins the A533 after about 1.5 miles. Lodge Lane is a right turn off the A533 clearly indicated by large, brown tourist signs.
The gardens and nursery are not served directly by public transport services. The nearest train station is Runcorn East or Runcorn, from where you can cycle or take a pre-booked taxi, or Runcorn where there is a permanent taxi rank.
