About Us

Pen Y Lan pork is situated over the Welsh/Cheshire border and is owned and run by porcine enthusiast Mike Ford.
Mike actually has a ‘proper’ day job, but his passion for pigs lead him to owning a smallholding where he lovingly raises pigs from which he makes and sells top quality sausages and dry cure bacon.

He makes a small range of sausages containing 88% pork, to provide that succulent 'old fashioned' pork taste you just can’t get from mass produced versions.

Mike only uses the four best parts of the pigs in his sausages - shoulder joint, leg, pork chops and belly pork. He also uses all natural skins, and light seasoning so you know you’ll be eating great quality meat containing no rubbish or short cuts.

You can find Mike’s Pen Y Lan sausages at several local monthly farmers’ markets around Cheshire and North Wales (including our own Chester market 3rd Sat of the month) as well as at local events and festivals.

The prices of Pen Y Lan sausages are:

Traditional - £3.75
Pork & Apple - £3.75
Pork & leek - £3.75
Pork & Tomato - £3.75
Olde English - £3.75

Or 3 packs for £10

A packet of dry home cured bacon is priced at £4.50 (Approximate weight is 1/2 a kilo)

If you haven’t tried these gold award winning products from their rare breed free range pigs then simply order some directly from their website where you can also view pictures of the pigs and read about their life on the small holding.

Also on the site, you can find some great recipes for sausages in traditional meals such as casseroles, pastas, bangers & mash and the traditional english fry up.
