About Us

This has been the scene of several Forest Live gigs, with Paul Weller and Jess Glynne among the superstars who’ve appeared here, as well as child-friendly trails featuring well-loved characters such as the Gruffalo (you’ll still find him hiding in the trees near Blakemere Moss). But there are major changes afoot in the forest this year. Work is underway for a new welcome centre, a bigger café with terrace, and other visitor facilities, all due to be unveiled mid-2020. Plus, Delamere will be the latest location for Forest Holidays, with a cluster of light-footprint cabins opening to holidaymakers in autumn, making it possible to stay overnight in these woods for the first time. While there won’t be any special events taking place here in the near future, Delamere will remain open. So walkers, cyclists and horse-riders can continue to enjoy the trails beneath the canopy of English oak, common beech, sweet chestnut, larch and Scots pine, around the meres and mosses, and along sandstone paths that climb to the summit of Old Pale Hill for sublime views across Cheshire and the counties beyond.

Paths are muddy and need repairing, I had to go off the main track to avoid this. Could be a nice place if they took more care of it. Read full review
