Rode Hall is a fine early 18th century country house set in a Repton landscape. It has been the home of the Wilbraham family since 1669 and the extensive grounds include a woodland garden, a formal garden designed by Nesfield in 1860 and a stunning two acre walled kitchen garden.
With its terraced rock garden and grotto, lake, icehouse, walled and Italian gardens, Rode’s fascinating landscape has so much to offer the year-round visitor. Visual delights include carpets of bluebells in May, vivid rhododendron and azaleas and a sumptuous herbaceous border. The kitchen garden, complete with its world record breaking gooseberries, comes into its own in the Summer with rows of beautiful flowers and vegetables which are then used in the tea room or sold at our monthly farmers’ market.
Rode is also home to one of the UK’s finest Snowdrop Walks with over 70 varieties carpeting an enchanting mile long route. Why not experience this fantastic display next year?
Popular farmers’ market with over 70 local artisan food and craft stalls on the first Saturday of every month.
The delightful Rode Hall Tea Rooms offer a selection of homemade cakes, light snacks and cream teas as well as hot and cold drinks. Opening times are exactly the same as the gardens and also on the first Saturday of every month (exc January) alongside the farmers' market.
