Inspired by some of the greatest movie sound-tracks of all time, the internationally renowned BBC Big Band are joined by special guest vocalist, Emer McParland, to celebrate The Sound of Cinema.   

Through a diverse repertoire arranged and curated by the BBC Big Band’s conductor, Barry Forgie,  the concert celebrates a selection of iconic music from the last 80-years of cinema.  Featuring numbers from films such as Breakfast at Tiffany’sMeet Me in St Louis and Alfie, through to Mission: ImpossibleShaft, and of course James Bond – all performed in the BBC Big Band’s own inimitable style! 

A not-to-be-missed evening for both music and movie fans of all ages. 

The BBC Big Band
Regarded as one of the world’s finest and most versatile Orchestras, The BBC Big Band continues to delight audiences around the world through their broadcasts on BBC Radio and their live performances.
The Band has played with stars such as diverse as George Benson, Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, Tony Bennett, George Shearing, Michel Legrand, Phil Woods, Joe Lovano, Lalo Schifrin, Michael McDonald, Bob Brookmeyer and Ray Charles. 

Emer McParland
Emer’s credits read like a ‘who’s who’ of the music and entertainment industry.  She has worked alongside pop stars such as Bjork and Peter Gabriel, in the classical world, Lesley Garrett and Russell Watson; and her versatility has led her to sing on a range of movie soundtracks including Tim Burton’s Sleepy HollowGangs of New YorkTomb Raider and most recently on the 2019 blockbuster and second-highest grossing film of all time Avengers: Endgame
