“The chief enemy of creativity is good sense” Pablo Picasso
COME AND UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY WHILST CREATING YOUR VERY OWN MASTERPIECE
Taking inspiration from Pablo Picasso’s portraits of women your painting will capture the essence of cubism. You can follow the Tutor, whilst being encouraged to introduce your own ideas and originality. Working with acrylic paints you will transform a traditional style Picasso portrait into your own personal masterpiece, using a variety of expressive techniques.
Artist, Elizabeth Macdonald will guide you through step by step in a fun and informative night. Whilst sipping at leisure you will learn how to create texture and pattern and be encouraged to create bold and beautiful marks to develop a fabulous decorative painting – finger painting is also an option!
The venue is the Cavern at Watergate Street Gallery, one of the most inspirational, creative spaces in town. You will receive a glass of prosecco on arrival just to help spark the artist within and an opportunity to view the latest artworks throughout the gallery.
This is a fun, friendly and entertaining evening, no art experience is required and we welcome mistakes, experimentation and a sense of humour.
Limiting places to 16 people ensures a quality allowing the artist to offer some individual guidance and tips during the evening as well as introducing different creative techniques and mediums. To help to encourage your creative expression we suggest you bring your own bottle for the evening as well as any nibbles. We provide glasses and ice buckets.
Proceeds from the night contribute to the art for wellbeing programme supporting people living with dementia and the effects of cancer.
Accessibility is limited as entry to the Cavern is accessed via steps.
