Cheshire Spring Foraging Courses

Marbury Country Park is a beautiful venue on the edge of Budworth Mere, making it within easy reach of Warrington, Chester, Stockport, Crewe, Wrexham, Macclesfield, Manchester and even Liverpool. The mixture of open grassland, woodland and brooks makes this park perfect for foraging.
The course starts with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers.
Then set off on a 2.5 hour (roughly) walk around the deer park and the castle grounds, teaching you how to identify the different Spring shoots, plants, flowers and hopefully mushrooms that you find.

There will be a break along the way for some homemade refreshments such as lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup.
After the walk you will end the day with a tasty wild food lunch based on what you have found. This will include some treats made from recent finds, a wild salad that you will pick on the day and possibly even some wild garlic pesto.

After the course you will be emailed a list of everything talked about on the day; to help you remember what you have learnt.
