About Us

Perhaps typical black-and-white revival on the outside, but a quite different building on the inside. Designed by John Douglas and opened in 1901, the City Baths replaced Chester’s floating baths on the Dee at The Groves. The building is accessed via steps from Union Street and there are more stairs on the tour. There is also an opportunity from 12:00 to 15:00 to take a swim at historic prices.
