About Us

St John’s Festival Orchestra, leader Edward Davies, conducted by Adam Davies, play Haydn’s Symphony No 103 in E flat, `Drumroll` and Brahms’s Piano Concerto in B flat, Op.83 with soloist Tom Hicks. Following the preliminaries of the Minstrel’s Court on the previous day, on Sunday 23 June St John the Baptist Church has its Patronal Festival Service at 10:00 and this evening concert. The orchestra was formed in the 1960’s to perform during the last week in June when the Church held a Festival Week to celebrate the Feast Day of St John, hence the orchestra’s name and their concert today.
