Friends of Queens Park to host Coronation Picnic in the Park (Sunday 7th May, 2pm – 6pm)
To celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort, the Friends of Queens Park are pleased to announce that they will be holding a free Coronation Picnic in the Park on Sunday 7th May 2023. Crewe Town Council is delighted to support the Friends by providing funding and organisational support to help them with the preparation for their event.
Live music from local bands will begin at 1pm.
Visitors are invited to bring their own picnics and join in the fun! More details can be found on the Queens Park Crewe Friends Facebook page.
A representative of the Friends of Queens Park commented: “We are excited to host our community Coronation event in Queens Park to celebrate this historic occasion. Our beautiful park was dedicated to the people of Crewe in July 1887 to commemorate another royal event – Queen Victoria’s Jubilee – and the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Grand Junction Railway. Queens Park is the perfect place for the Crewe community to come together for a fantastic afternoon of live music and festivity!”
