Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain is heading to Warrington as part of his first tour since the world turned upside down during the pandemic.
At the end of his last tour, the stand-up comic, presenter and panel show host had performed the show, Voice of Reason, 180 times, over two years and across 20 countries, from Auckland to Reykjavik and from Moscow to New York…and by March 2020 he was ready for a break.
He would now like to apologise for saying that and will never wish for anything like that again.
Yes, Dara's back on tour, including a date at Parr Hall on 2 March, and he will never stop again – because that's clearly what caused all this trouble. In fact, in his new show, So, Where Were We? Dara will hardly mention the last couple of years because who wants to be reminded of that?
Instead, Dara will fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners and audience teasing while trying not to trip over his words by talking too quickly because he's so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.
Dara needs little introduction after being a mainstay on our screens for almost 20 years.
His big break in UK television came in 2003 when he became host of BBC’s The Live Floor Show. This led to a guest slot on Have I Got News for You where he made such an impression that he was invited back four times as guest host.
These days, Dara is probably best known for comedy panel game Mock the Week which he has hosted for an incredible 18 series. Other highlights have included hosting The Apprentice: You’re Fired for three years and heading up BBC Two’s reboot of Robot Wars.
The self-confessed geek also regularly hosts the BAFTA Games Awards and co-hosted Stargazing Live alongside Professor Brian Cox.
