About Us

Going the Distance: Celebrating 480 years of racing at the Roodee, this exhibition presents objects and images from the Chester Race Company and Grosvenor Museum to explore the origins and heritage of the oldest racecourse still in operation in Great Britain.

WonderFull: Showcasing unseen marvels from the Museum stores wonders in the tradition of the earliest museums; `cabinets of curiosities` provide a varied assortment of intellectually stimulating items.

Unexpected Elegance: Displaying female fashion from the 1970s; mini, midis and maxis; cotton, corduroy, polyester and fake leopard-skin; and designs by Ossie Clark, Givenchy and Zandra Rhodes.

The Grosvenor’s 13th Open Art Exhibition: Discover the wealth of local creative talent in this diverse and inspiring exhibition, selected from hundreds of entries in open competition. Enjoy a kaleidoscope of colours and styles, a wide range of techniques and materials, and a rich variety of subjects and moods. There will be things you will love, and maybe a few you will hate: come and vote for your favourite!
