Colin Hall and Mark Pountney will deliver a night to remember based on their mutual love, knowledge and appreciation of the Beatles. It includes rare archive material from Bob Harris' collection of interviews with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. By 1963, Lennon & McCartney had written so many songs they simply couldn't all be ac-commodated on Beatles' releases.
It made artistic and economic good sense to offer such songs to other artists for recording amidst the Mersey beat boom of 1963 & 1964. They had an appreciative outlet in artists such as Cilla Black, Bill J. Kramer and Tommy Quickly. This is the story behind these songs, the hits, the misses and the demos that the group never released.
