About Us

Break down the barriers of the past this September, as our Rights of the Child exhibition draws to a close. Explore the wider Quarry Bank estate through a series of walks, discovering how your status decided which paths you could or couldn't take.

The early Industrial Revolution changed our world forever. At Quarry Bank you can discover a complete industrial community and experience the very different worlds of owner and worker, who lived and worked here side by side. Quarry Bank's whole site is open for free this weekend, including the mill, formal gardens, Quarry Bank House and Styal village hub. There will also be tours available of the Apprentice House and 13 Oak Cottages (bookable on the day).

In addition to this, we are also running events specifically for Heritage Open Day. These include a series of walks and tours connected to our current Rights of the Child exhibition.
