From Thursday 2nd June, The Lion will be running a jam packed schedule for locals to enjoy and to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Royal Highness. It will be open from 8am until 11pmon Thursday and events will include the launch of a special Jubilee Afternoon Tea, available from 12pm – 4pm and live broadcasts of the dedicated events on a large projector in The Lion’s beautiful patio courtyard (weather permitted, of course!). From 7:30pm on the Thursday, the choir One Achord will be performing and this will include a Jubilee themed sing-along for friends and families to enjoy. Tables for dinner before can be booked on the website now.
On Friday, the pub will be open from 8am until Midnight with live music from Core Entertainment from 7pm until late.
Saturday 4th June will see the pub open for breakfast between 8am and midday, then lunch served along with the Jubilee Afternoon Tea between midday and 4pm. No booking is required. On the evening, there will be a live broadcast of the Platinum Party At The Palace outside (weather permitting) and the venue will remain open until Midnight.
To wrap up the weekend’s events, on Sunday 5th June The Lion will be open from 8am until 11pm with breakfast served until Midday. Thereafter, the Big Jubilee Lunch will be served from Midday until 6pm, with a live performance from Take Two Jazz at the pub from Midday onwards too. The bar will open from 6pm until 11pm for guests to enjoy the culmination of celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
