About Us

Ann Marie Curtis is a member of St Werburgh’s Great War Study Group. Their research culminated in the collection of essays about Chester and the Parish of St Werburgh in the book, `A War-Torn Chester Parish`. While Cestrians left to fight in the war, refugees and munition workers arrived in Chester. Ann Marie’s short talk will reveal more about those who came to Chester in this period. A second member of the Study Group, Gerard Tighe, and author of a chapter of the book, will deliver the Meet the Author session on 27 June, to complete Chester Heritage Festival’s stories of Chester during WW1.
