Northgate Development - The Archaeological Response

This talk will describe the archaeological background to the redevelopment of the city centre Northgate area. It will look at the development of the archaeological mitigation strategy, which is heavily focussed on the preservation of the archaeological remains. It will also describe the results of the archaeological investigations which have accompanied the limited number of significant intrusions into the Roman and medieval levels.
