This summer in Crewe:

- learn the skills you would need to run away with the circus

- dance around the park in giant butterfly wings

- see history brought to life at the Heritage Centre

- get creative with an array of workshops from video game design to author illustration workshops or even science

- experience outdoor theatre and storytelling that will captivate even the wriggliest of viewers

All on your doorstep! Operation Summer is Crewe’s FREE to access summer programme for families and EVERYONE is invited! Please stay safe and make sure you bring sun cream, sunhats and plenty of water to activities.

Tuesday 25 July

Crewe Library (11 - 12 & 2 - 3pm) Marc Makes Comics Cartoon Workshop. FREE. 7+

Join cartoonist, Marc Jackson (The Beano, Aces Weekly, the Brooklyn Red Hook Star-Revue) for an hour of cartoon-art. Learn the basics of cartooning and comics as Marc shows you tips and techniques on how to create your characters!

Crewe Library (10 - 11.30am, 12.30 - 2pm, 2.30 - 4pm) Mako Create Tech Day: Stop Motion Animation, Code-a-Sphero, Video Game Design! FREE - Booking required (link will be added soon). 7+

10 - 11.30am - Stop Motion Animation: shoot your own SMA film using iPads and Lego, before adding titles & credits and sharing them on the Mako Youtube channel!

12.30 - 2pm - Code-a-Sphero: create your own Lego maze and code a Sphero from the start to the finish via a press of a button.

2.30 - 4pm - Video Game Design: use the Bloxels app to create a character and design the first level of your own retro video game.

 

Friday 28 July

Cumberland Play Area (11.30am - 12.15) Pop Up in the Park Zumba. FREE. All ages.

Dance the day away with a fun loving group and enjoy both challenging and freeing moves in this much-loved dance class. No better way to spend a summer day than enjoying it in the fresh air with good music and good friends!

Open to all! Families with children of all ages are welcome to this inclusive session where trained instructors will use a mix of bodyweight exercises and challenges to get everyone in the family active.

No need to book just turn up! Please note all children must be accompanied by an adult, and hot weather is expected so please make sure you bring sun cream, sunhats and plenty of water.

Do you have treasure to keep safe? Make and decorate your own mini treasure cabinet complete with mini drawers to hold your treasure.
