Join the festival team on the Open Course to learn more about the festival. Handle Roman artefacts from the Grosvenor Museum; try on armour; and take part in Roman games and activities. Spot the changes in the River Dee and Chester over the ages. View a display, More than a Shop – Browns of Chester’s Hidden Gems, collated by Cheshire Archives; and, younger visitors, make your own Browns of Chester catalogue.
Watch a parade of Romans and other characters representing Chester’s splendid past and culture at around 13:00. They will be led by Chester’s Town Crier's into the Parade Ring to hear his festival proclamation.
Throughout the afternoon there will be a host of other fun activities to keep the whole family entertained while watching the races.
Adult tickets for the Open Course cost £10.
*Entrance is free to those aged 17 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult.
All tickets for The ICM Stellar Sports Roman Day can be purchased online from Chester Races here.
