About Us

March as a young Roman soldier through Roman Chester or follow as an accompanying adult at a special Chester Heritage Festival price. Practice the skills Roman soldiers needed and learn about their life in Chester. Assemble at Dewa Roman Experience, Pierpoint Lane, for this one-hour patrol.

Tickets for children and adults cost £2 and should be purchased in advance. To book and pay by debit or credit card follow the link above. Alternatively, you can book via the Chester Heritage Festival office, at The History Hub @ The Grosvenor Museum, Monday to Friday 10:30 to 17:00, by phone: 01244 972115 or in person and pay by cheque or cash.

Road Directions

Chester is accessable by the M53 and M56 motorways and major A roads such as the A55, A41, A51, A56, and A483. From Manchester: Follow the M56 until junction 15, joining the M53 then exit at junction 12, turning right onto the A56 into Chester. From Liverpool: Take the Kingsway tunnel and join the M53 at junction 1, then follow the motorway until junction 12, exiting and turning right onto the A56 into Chester. From Birmingham: Follow the M6 until junction 16, turning left onto the A500. Continue, taking the Nantwich bypass, onto the A51 sign posted for Chester. Follow the A51 into Chester. From North Wales: Follow the A55 until you meet the A483, turn left into Chester
