About Us

Many events during this year’s Chester Heritage Festival have a waterways theme: a walk to explore Watergate Street is, therefore, a must.  As you walk from the city towards its former port, Stephen Langtree of Chester Civic Trust, will recount stories about Chester’s role as a major medieval port and this street.

Meet at The Cross, outside St Peter’s Church, Watergate Street for this 90-minute walk, which will finish on time to join the Heritage Cruise at noon.  Book in advance for this free walk, which includes steps.  With two working days’ notice to the Chester Heritage Festival office, the route can be adapted for people with mobility difficulties.
