Come join Theatre Chef Leo Burtin to explore the culinary collections of Cheshire Archives.

As part of the Heritage Open Days national festival, ‘Edible England’, Cheshire Archives are throwing open their (digital) doors and inviting you to come and taste and smell the history of the region.

Theatre Chef Leo Burtin, who has been working on his pioneering Eat the Archives project, will introduce you to some of the chefs, recipe compilers, ingredients, and flavours which have shaped the tastes of Cheshire.

Cook your meal in advance using our recipe card and kit, or cook along with Leo on the day itself, and enjoy a shared tasting experience while hearing about the stories behind these dishes.

This event will be hosted on Zoom, so you can experience our collections without having to leave your home. Register now on Eventbrite to receive your recipe card and ingredient pack. Places are limited so sign up now to take part in this historic cookalong.

How to take part:

Register on Eventbrite and we will send you detailed recipe instructions, an ingredients list, a recipe kit, and a link to the zoom event. You can prepare the recipe in advance, or cook along with Leo on the day itself, where we will all eat together.

This dish will be suitable for vegetarians. It may contain nuts and the provided recipe kits cannot be guaranteed to be free of gluten or any other allergens. Should you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please email us as soon as you book so we may make suggestions of spice kit swaps you could procure yourself.
